Back in 2009 I started BigFoot Bread with the sole purpose of keeping the Toasting Bread and Pita alive since it’s departure from Serious Bread at the start of that year. It was a meager beginning and I recall that hard winter that followed my short summer season. Fast forward to the summer of 2012. Now with a full time store front in Historic Downtown Oregon City and the support of loyal customers and friends we are now a full service bakery that produces 10 different styles of bread in a variety of different flavors. We visit 4 different areas of Portland to sell our bread plus we are making an impact on the downtown area businesses of Oregon City.
You can find us on Main Street a half block away from the Arch Bridge between 6th & 7th street across from the Elks Lodge Parking lot. We have a lot of things planned for our bakery as I discover old favorite made in a new way from braided egg bread and sourdough to rye bread. Owning a bakery as this I can dream up new things and try them out to your benefit! The summer of 2013 will bring fresh berries and fruit for sale in our newly planned Mercantile Area that will feature local farmers and artisans from the Farmers Markets we frequent.
We’ve come a long way from that first bake shift on July 4th, 2009 and we’ll go an even longer way forward as time marches on. Now that the Historic Arch Bridge has reopened hopefully you’ll find time to stop by and visit with us in our new bakery store. But you better hurry before time runs out! What do I mean? I have new plans for the front of the bakery and even better plans for the back!
Thanks for dropping by and hope to see you soon!
